Can air be extracted via the standard perforation?
The perforation in the ceiling panels serves primarily for sound absorption. From a technical point of view, it is possible to extract the return air via this perforation. This can be done by mounting a junction box on the panel or, in the case of plenum extraction, by omitting the acoustic package locally. Due to the small passage of the standard perforation (16%), dust in the extracted air will easily adhere to the plate material between the perforation holes. This local contamination of the ceiling detracts from the aesthetic quality of the climate ceiling and is therefore not recommended by us.
