Rabobank Dommelstreek
In this project, the existing building was located at the heart of the new-build premises. The (new-build) extension transforms the old building into a new, compact, efficient and flexible atrium building. In addition, this extension helps to sustainably manage energy and allows the building to achieve a BREEAM score of 'very good'. OxzeRo climate ceilings were able to play a positive role in achieving this status.
Challenge: Implementing climate ceiling with air grids, while working with limited installation height
Because floors in the new building had to match floors in the old building and the aesthetic preference for high ceilings has to be taken into consideration, there was little plenum height in the newly-built section. In order to realise a climate ceiling featuring air grids, while restricted by the installation height, Inteco asked itself the following question in the design phase: How can we create a climate ceiling with air grids despite restricted installation height?’
Solution
We worked closely with installation advisor Nelissen to find a solution where concealed Inteco-Krantz Opticlean air grids were incorporated into the climate ceiling along with poured air ducts in the concrete floor. That is why Inteco was given the assignment for the climate ceiling by Rabobank even before engineering and installation work had been outsourced, so Inteco's ceiling drawings and the concealed Opticlean air grids could be used as a basis for poured ducts and recesses in the concrete floor. This meant we were able to create a climate ceiling, including air supply grids, within the schedule despite the height restrictions.
