Climate ceilings
De Munthof: Expanded metal climate ceiling islands between existing beams

In one of Amsterdam's busiest entertainment areas, the Reguliersdwarsstraat, Van Wijnen renovated the Munthof. The monumental building, which largely consists of parking levels, has been transformed into a pleasant and comfortable place to work. The indoor climate becomes pleasant and manageable through the expanded metal climate islands of Inteco.

The climate ceilings are designed as islands and placed between the existing beam layers. Cooling heating pipes are soldered to the expanded metal for high heat and cooling emissions. The expanded metal has a different degree of transparency from every angle, so there is a playful look at the overhead pipework.

The lighting fixtures are made to measure and, as part of a bandraster, form part of the climate ceiling. Daylight and presence sensors are integrated in some of the LED luminaires.
