The water quality of a climate ceiling
What must it meet and what should you pay attention to?A question that is frequently asked to Inteco is: "What quality must the water with which the climate ceiling be filled meet?" The answer to that is actually very simple: "Regular drinking water is fine!"
Which elements and factors play a role?
The composition of drinking water ensures that a climate ceiling can function well for a long time. Our first projects date from 1995 and still function flawlessly.
The aquifers registers for climate ceilings can be divided into 3 groups:
1. Copper tube registers, oxygen diffusion-tight ( MeandRo , MeandRo-V , MecuRo);
2. Registers of plastic tube, oxygen diffusion- proof according to DIN4726 ( OxzeRo );
3. Plastic tube registers, not oxygen diffusion-tight.
Important: view the entire water circuit
In addition to these water-bearing registers, an installation with climate ceilings also includes more installation components such as piping, flexible hoses, valves, valves, pumps, etc. Although these components are largely not included in the scope of delivery of Inteco, it is important to work together view the entire water circuit. Can contamination or corrosion occur anywhere in the circuit? The use of incorrect materials in relation to the selected registers can lead to stuck control valves, blockage or even leakage of the system.
Points of attention plastic pipe registers
In this context, special attention is required for plastic registers.
• For registers that are not oxygen-diffusion-tight, it is important not to include corrosive materials in the circuit.
• For registers with plastic tubes that are oxygen-tight in accordance with DIN 4726, it is also important to consider the amount of plastic tubes in the circuit.
Depending on the amount of plastic pipe surface used, oxygen-rich water may still be present and only non-corrosive materials must be used in the circuit. Depending on the climate system used, additives in the water are unnecessary or even undesirable. Degassing the water is not necessary for the climate ceiling, but is recommended from the point of view of operation (venting) and service life of the installation (<oxygen = <corrosion).
Points of interest for copper pipe registers
For copper pipe registers, it is important to prevent the adhesion of iron particles to the copper pipe wall and hence to pit corrosion. This is possible, for example, by applying filters, flushing the installation during filling and avoiding the influence of magnetism on the water in the tube.
Depending on the climate system used, additives in the water are unnecessary or even undesirable.
