KMD in Ballerup
The KMD office in Ballerup has been completely renovated by a team of Kullegaard as architects and Cowi as engineers. The starting point for this renovation was the desire for a flexible working environment, taking into account the high demands of the cooling capacity of the workplace.
Challenge: meeting very high demand for cooling capacity
To meet the demand for high cooling capacity of 120 W per M2 used the Inteco MeandRo-V system. This stretch metal system guarantees an extremely high cooling capacity and provides flexibility in the design. The expanded metal is folded like a closed cassette on which a copper pipe bracket is soldered. Normally, the expanded metal part in a climate ceiling is placed in a perforated cassette so that you do not see the expanded metal, but in this case it is used as a visible product, which gives the climate air a unique raw appearance. Expanded metal is drawn at an angle so that it has a different degree of transparency from different angles of view. For example, the material has a visually open and visually closed side which can be varied. In addition, we have used various coverings in this project. In the middle of the corridor zone is a large ventilation duct that was covered with expanded metal, so it is aesthetically in line with the climate ceilings in the adjoining rooms.
We have also used a continuous line of light between the climate panels to highlight the long rooms in accordance with Kullegaard's design.
