AdeRo

Plastic diffusion-open climate system for cooling and heating

The AdeRo system is a plastic diffusion-open climate system, which is characterised by major flexibility for activating ceiling panels. The AdeRo climate system consists of polypropylene climate mats featuring capillary pipes. Because these capillary pipes are very flexible and can be easily placed separately, besides whole panels, panels with integrated components can be easily activated.

AdeRo mats are inserted into the metal ceiling panel as an integrated system, and are pressed on to the metal ceiling panel using the above-lying acoustic package and special compression springs, or an optional gypsum panel. The whole system is made into a sandwich package in the factory. Flexible connection hoses are used to connect AdeRo panels to each other or directly to the distribution pipes using manifolds. Contact between the metal ceiling panel and the AdeRo mat, as well as the small distance between the capillary pipes, ensures effective transfer to the metal and helps to realise a highly uniform ceiling temperature. The open structure of the climate mats ensures that perforation in the ceiling panel is not covered, which allows the ceiling to achieve very good results when it comes to acoustics (noise absorption.

The AdeRo climate element is an integrated system that offers the following advantages:

  • If necessary, the ceiling panel can be easily exchanged without having to disconnect the climate element's water supply.
  • The climate element can be easily removed if a wall needs to be built where the panel is located or if an in-built component needs to be inserted.
  • Existing metal ceilings can be easily activated.

System separation

The AdeRo climate system is a so-called oxygen diffusion-open system, which means oxygen-rich water is encountered in the system. Therefore, when implementing the AdeRo climate system, a stainless steel heat exchanger to create separation between the primary and secondary water circuit and all products in the secondary circuit must consist of plastic or corrosion-proof materials. If brass components are used, they must be capable of resisting dezincification.

Operation

The AdeRo climate system is based on the transfer of heat between the ceiling panel and a finely distributed network of plastic capillary pipes, where untreated water of drinking-water quality flows as energy carrier. The ceiling panel then extracts this heat from the underlying space (cooling function). The inner diameter of capillary pipes is so small, and they have all been connected parallel, that water flow is always laminar. This means noise production or cavitation will not be encountered, with relative low resistance in the system. The pipes also work as capillary vessels, which means the AdeRo mats also have a ventilating effect. This system's excellent heat transfer is realised by combining the low wall thickness of capillary pipes with the panel's large contact surface. The small distance between the pipes also helps to realise very uniform temperature distribution across the panel.

Oxygen diffusion takes place in the system due to the use of polypropylene for AdeRo mats and the distribution pipes. The absence of oxygen does not become a problem because only non-corrosive materials are used in the climate ceiling circuit, and because it has been separated from the primary circuit using a stainless steel heat exchanger. The use of non-corrosive materials and the presence of oxygen in the water makes sure untreated water remains clear and safeguards effective system operation.

The permissible system pressure amounts to approximately 4 bar. At the factory, each climate mat is checked for tightness by applying pressure of 20 bar. In addition, another pneumatic tightness check is carried out after installation in the building.

The AdeRo element only has low water content and therefore low heat content. The AdeRo climate system therefore quickly responds to temperature and/or volume fluctuations in the water supply. This means the AdeRo climate system is ideal for change-over systems.
